After riding bikes for 40+yrsaccident free, i traded mine in recently for a honda silverwing, today i had my first accident ,on a roundabout in the right hand lane turning right i was slowly passing a car which out of the blue turned straight into me broadside lucky for me i managed to keep the scooter upright ,the only thing to hit into my body was his wing mirror which badly bruised my ribs i think if i where on a bike my left leg would have taken the full impact, instead the foot well on the scooter saved me a lot of problems,i cant take pain killers any sugestions please !
Ouch! Glad you are (mostly) OK. I hope that you will recover from the pain soon – try a bottle of whiskey – drink the lot and when you wake up the pain will be the last thing you are bothered about Lower limb injuries are the reasoning behind the TRRL’s much lambasted ‘Leg Protectors’ – while scoots bodywork are perhaps not as rigidly protected as the proposed design of the leg protectors you have answered a question I was wondering. The ‘footwell’ area can mean the design of scoot has a benefit over bikes in certain incidents. Thanks for the test!
